Rapid IT Recycling is an eco-friendly and free* IT Recycling company that assists businesses, schools, colleges, local authorities, and households across the UK in the recycling and safe secure disposal of their IT & electrical related equipment.

Rapid IT Recycling have 2 generations in the business with Father and Son as Directors. David Bannister (father) and Jack Bannister (son) both work in the business on a daily basis.

We recycle desktops, laptops, servers, storage, networking, printers, monitors, projectors and all computer related peripherals. This service includes collection, transportation, recycling, re-marketing reuse, data wiping or hard drive destruction.

In line with current WEEE Legislation, we offer a simple easy and free* service in the recycling of redundant I.T. equipment.

With our recycling and disposal process, Rapid IT Recycling aim is to eliminate any unnecessary landfill of items that may be of use to other companies or individuals.

*Our service is free depending on the quality and quantity of what you are looking to recycle, we urge clients to use our online assessment form to give as much detail on the equipment they have to recycle. A member of our team can then assess it and make contact to discuss service options with you.


  • Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Lower Basic School Donation

    Over summer we gathered 19 PCs and monitors to be donated to Sanchaba Sulay Jobe Lower Basic School in The Gambia. Shuttleworth College were also involved, we collected their redundant stools to add to the donation. In December 2018 these were all set up and the students were really happy with their IT suite.
  • Sukuta Lower Basic School Donation

    Over summer in 2018 we donated 40 PCs to Sukuta Lower Basic School in The Gambia. In December 2018 they got set up and the school was super pleased. They are going to make a huge difference to their learning experience. What a great Christmas present for them!
  • Turf Sleepout

    Our Managing Director, Jack Bannister and Delivery Operative, Wayne Thompson recently took part with over 50 other people in the Turf Sleepout event. They were asked to give up the comfort of their own bed to sleep outside battling the stormy, wet and windy conditions at Burnley FC’s football stadium near the pitch for several hours. A whopping £25,891.23 was raised in total which will be split between 3 charities – Burnley FC in the Community, Emmaus Burnleyand Jane’s Place. “A big thank you to 50+ people who travelled from as far as Hereford and the Lakes to sleep out & raise money for Burnley FC in the Community, SafeNet& Emmaus Burnley. You did something very, very special.” – Burnley FC in the Community Facebook Page.

    Expanding on recent success we are happy to announce that our Managing Director Jack Bannister is finalist of the Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Sub 36 awards.
  • Won E3 Corporate Social Responsibility Award

    The E3 Business Awards are the North West’s leading and most inclusive business awards. LCWS and Rapid IT Ltd won the 2018 award for Corporate Social Responsibility!

  • FEW Bury Grammar Donation

    Bury Grammar School who we have supplied PCs to, donated their surplus school furniture through our chosen charity FEW (Furniture for Education Worldwide).

    We were happy to announce that we were nominated for the E3 Business Awards 2018 in the category Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Wear Your Burnley Shirt To Work Day

    We took part in Burnley FC In The Communities charity fundraiser, wear your Burnley shirt to work day and managed to raise – £78.33!
  • Became LANPAC Members

    We became partners with Lancashire Partnership Against Crime (LANPAC). They work as a unique collaboration between Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Businesses and Public Services to reduce levels of crime and disorder across the county. The Partnership is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee and its primary role is to support various crime prevention and community safety schemes throughout Lancashire submitted by the local police on behalf of the community. We will be working hard to support LANPAC in the future.
  • Easter Logo Competition

    We held a Easter Logo Competition for all schools across the UK. We had many entries from all over. The decision was hard to make but our winners were Charlie, Year 5 from St Joseph’s School, Nottingham for the best Rapid IT Logo and Danny, Year 1 from Avondale Primary School for the best LCWS Logo! We gave them both an Easter egg and a refurbished computer to each of the schools.
  • 2018Red Rose Award Nomination

    We were delighted to be nominated for the Red Rose Awards 2018 in two categories, the Family Business award and the E-Commerce Award with our sister company Rapid IT Ltd.
  • Office Extension & Refurb

    The upstairs office has been extending out with a mezzanine over the warehouse. In the extension is a meeting room and communal area with a kitchen and pool table for the staff to enjoy. We have also put in new office furniture which looks clean and modern.
  • Bought Premises

    We purchased the building ready to be able to make changes to it ourselves.
  • Pendleside Hospice Donation

    LCWS Recycling Ltd. and Rapid IT Ltd. Donate a laptop to Pendleside Hospice to be used by the family support team.
  • Whitehough Centre Donation

    We were pleased to be able to help the Whitehough Outdoor Centre with the donation of laptops and PC’s to be used by the youngsters attending the Centre. Chris Stevenson (Operations Manager) and Linda Szafar (Project and Relationship Manager) attended the Centre to hand over the hardware.
  • Blackburn Youth Zone Donation

    We were happy to donate 10 computers so that children attending the Youth Zone can improve their PC skills. We then returned to Blackburn Youth Zone to see how our computers were being utilised and were happy to find that they had a variety of places in the youth club. One has been installed in the gym to help with searching for nutrition plans and workouts, a couple were being used in the staff room for college work placement students to work on, one was being used in a gaming room and the other one was being used in the mentoring/counselling office to help the youths and staff research different issues that they may be having. It was great to see our computers going to good use!

    We joined Burnley Bondholders which is an innovative and powerful network of organisations who believe what is good for Burnley is good for business.
  • GDPR Event

    With HM Network Ltd we held a seminar for Burnley Business Week informing attendees about what GDPR is and what they needed to do in preparation for it.
  • Development of LCWS Brand

    The decision was made to have our graphics done in-house so we hired a Graphic Designer straight out of university. Since then we have a new website, better marketing material and a general improvement of all our graphic content all to help develop the LCWS brand.
  • Boost

    We joined Boost who are a company that help Lancashire businesses grow.
  • Marinel Donation

    We donated 10 fully functioning computers and a server, along with hundreds of books, to the Marinel Primary School in Accra, Ghana. The computers will be set up in the classrooms, the school library and also in the office for administration purposes.
  • Morocco Donation

    We support Furniture for Education (FEW) by donating school furniture we take in from schools when we collect redundant ICT and electrical equipment as part of our free IT recycling service. Padiham Primary School provided 18 redundant desks and a large number of books which we donated on their behalf to the charity. We also donated a number of PCs to the charity who sent them as part of a container load of equipment and furniture being shipped to deserving schools overseas. One of these charities is the Moroccan Children's Trust.

  • 2015Boxing Day Flood

    We were badly affected by the floods that hit many homes and businesses on Boxing Day 2015 across Lancashire. When the River Calder burst its banks, three feet of water engulfed the premises of both organisations in a matter of minutes, causing tens of thousands of pounds’ worth of damage to stock and company assets. A massive effort from hard-working staff, family & friends assisting over the subsequent weeks, dramatically helped in an enormous clean-up operation, which allowed both companies to reopen their buildings again in the New Year; albeit scarred by the water damage.
